Club Service Committee
Chairman PE John Newberry
Club Service means simply service within the club - by monitoring
the organisation and smooth functioning of the club's affairs and administration.
This is accomplished through this committee.
It is responsible for considering applications for membership and for initial briefing and training of new members. It is also responsible for ensuring that new members are well looked after once they join the club.
The committee also has responsibility for recruitment and retention of the membership, for members' welfare and dissemination of information to both members and the wider community. It does this through a Newsletter, reports in the local newspaper and also through this website. Our weekly programme is also organised and monitored by the committee.
One important task for the committee is the organisation of our Annual Charter Anniversary Celebration, to take place this year on October 14th at the Hydro. This is an occasion for members to meet other Rotarians from around the District who they may not have seen for twelve months.
Club Service is the 'engine room' of the club and is the
foundation of a good Rotary club because only where efficiency and good fellowship
exist can Rotary service to others be successfully achieved
